Art Student Gallery

leave a comment »

I was in David Avalos class the art gallery was geared toward repetitions of single object which ranged from popsicle sticks ,spoons nails fabric and wood boards. The gallery was geared to make object sculpted out of non-representational and the sculptures made were ment to it was the last meeting of the year I tried my best to capture the exact moments of candid expression while setting up the event. there are some images. I’m very proud of this show due to the fact that we all put it together in under an hour and the results were very professional. Al always questions and answeres are appreciated.

When to see the Misanthrope

leave a comment »

The Misanthrope is a play that chronicles the life of a man that finds fault with all around him in even the smallest ways I found it to be very “human”. The experience made me realize the fascination with a play the timing preparation and the overall need for the actors to beat their best. CSUSM produced this play with a an eye to keep it true to it’s original translation so many translations like to use popular language instead of the language of the times I constantly found myself trying to keep up with the actors. It was an enjoyable experience yet i felt lost still pretty cool concept needs abetter poster I’ll post the poster as soon as I get one.

VPA 380-11: MOPA: Streetwise

leave a comment »

I recently went to Streetwise an exhibition at The San Diego Museum of Photographic Arts I’ve prepared a small gallery slideshow to help me with this write-up and give a brief yet complete idea of what I was seeing. Keep in mind I just used a cellphone the visit i last minute. Honestly Professor Small I’m very sorry for the lack of museum entries I’ve been having some scheduling problems and I understand if this hurts my grade but keep in mind that I’ve been trying to go but the weekends I have to work. I again apologized in advance for th quick review of images and things I observed.  First u is Robert frank his gallery seems more focused on the time of the early 1960′s dealing with racial and political tensions occuring at the time.
